Mike Everland, owner of CountySports.com

Mike's a regular guy, just like anyone else. He works hard and likes to have a good time. He also plays paintball on a regular basis so he knows what it's like to be out there using the equipment he sells.

History of Mike and CountySports.com

He went to college to study software design and got his bachelor's degree in 1991. He then went on to work for Lockheed/Martin, the world's largest defense contractor.
In 1991 Mike also started playing paintball. He instantly fell in love with the sport and it became a regular activity. He continued to play for several years.
In 1997 Mike started the "Cumberland County Club for Paintball" with a bunch of friends who shared his love for the sport. One of the club members suggested that Mike should start a business selling paintball equipment on the internet.
In 1998 he started CountyPaintball.com, one of the first online paintball stores. At first, the store was just a side business to help support his hobby. However, word spread about Mike's excellent customer service and the business grew quickly. While working for Lockheed/Martin and running the paintball store, Mike also went back to school to earn his Master's Degree.
In 2000 he earned his Master's Degree in computer science.
By 2001 CountyPaintball.com had grown quite a bit and working a full time job while also running the business became very difficult. Mike left his job with Lockheed/Martin in October of 2001 so he could focus more time on the store. The business continued to grow, even though Mike advertised very little. The growth was, in most part, due to many satisfied customers telling their friends about CountyPaintball.
In late 2005 Mike changed the name of the business to "CountySports.com". The name change was done for the possibility of future expansion into other sports and to help point out that paintball is indeed a legitimate sport. In correlation with the name change, the website was also redesigned to give more functionality to our customers.

For years, paintball players have come to know Mike as the most trusted online paintball dealer. Mike intends to keep earning that trust for many years to come.
