Northside-Pinetown vs. East Wilkes

2024 NCHSAA Softball State Championships


Excitement is in the air as the 2024 NCHSAA Softball State Championships approach, bringing with them the promise of unforgettable moments. This season has seen its fair share of dramatic victories and tough losses, setting the stage for an intense showdown between East Wilkes and Northside-Pinetown. Fans can expect a captivating battle in Raleigh, where the best of the best will compete for glory on the softball diamond.



Northside-Pinetown


Northside-Pinetown has had an outstanding season, achieving an impressive 21-4 overall record and earning the 20th spot in North Carolina’s rankings. With their sights set on the championship, they’re not done yet.


Recent Game Overview


In the regional finals it started out scary for Northside-Pinetown, the first game of the series seemed like it couldn't be any closer. The Roxboro Bulldogs struck fear into Northside with a commanding 3-0 lead in the first inning. But from what we've seen so far this season, we know Northside dosen't back down from a challenge. They proceeded to lay the smack down on Roxboro with 9 unanswered runs up until the ffith inning and ended up with a commanding 9-7 victory. Emaleigh Cherry, Kenan Woolard, Taylor Willard, Londyn Keech, Jorden Clark, Riley Hudson, and Megan Hopkins all scored at least 1 run solidifying Northsides spot in the state finals.



East Wilkes Cardinals


The East Wilkes Cardinals have delivered a stellar performance this season, achieving an impressive 27-3 overall record and climbing to 8th place in North Carolina’s rankings. Their journey is far from over as they aim for the championship.


Recent Game Overview


Facing off against Robbinsville in the regional championship proved to be a simple challenge for East Wilkes. In the second game of the series, the cardinals had an early 1 run lead in the first inning when the score was 3-2. Both teams only scored a single run for the next 4 innings when something changed. Both teams popped off, Robbinsville scoring 3 runs while East Wilkes held the lead scoring 4



1A State Championships


Game 1 of the series kicks off on Friday night, with baseball action taking place at Ting Stadium and the softball championships held at Duke University.
