The Kings Mountain Mountaineers have shown grit and determination all season, boasting an impressive 24-1 overall record and earning the 16th spot in North Carolina's rankings.

In a nail-biting Game 3 of the regional series, the Mountaineers secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Piedmont, punching their ticket to the state championship game. 

Mountaineers' ace Madeline Huffman was sensational on the mound, delivering a complete game shutout. Huffman struck out nine batters and allowed no earned runs, keeping the Panthers' bats silent throughout the game.

On offense, Kayla McSwain was a standout performer, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a double, driving the Mountaineers to victory. Kali Weaver also played a crucial role, going 2-for-4 with a run scored, a double, and a triple, igniting both the crowd and her team.

South Brunswick Cougars
