This season has been a rollercoaster of epic victories and heartbreaking defeats, and this week’s matchup between East Rowan and South Central is no exception. South Central Falcons Soar to Regional Victory

The South Central Falcons, currently ranked 4th in the state, have fought hard all season, establishing a stellar 24-4 overall record.

Recent Game Overview

In their second game of the regional series against Terry Sanford, the Falcons showcased their dominance with a convincing 6-2 victory over the Bulldogs. Carter Hale was exceptional on the mound, pitching three innings without allowing a single earned run or hit.

On offense, Christian Chance led the charge, scoring two runs and reaching base in three of his four plate appearances. Tyce Thompson also made a significant impact, scoring a run and getting on base in two of his four trips to the plate.

East Rowan Mustangs Charge Ahead

The East Rowan Mustangs, currently ranked 5th in the state, have battled fiercely throughout the season, boasting an impressive 32-2 overall record.

In their regional clash against Tuscola, East Rowan secured a hard-fought 6-3 victory. Senior standout Joe Burleyson delivered a solid performance on the mound, allowing three earned runs on three hits over seven innings, showcasing his reliability.

Sophomore Harrison Ailshie was a powerhouse at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBIs, and two runs scored. Ailshie has been instrumental for the Mustangs, maintaining a batting average of .417 and a flawless fielding percentage of 1.000. Senior McCall Henderson also made significant contributions, hitting 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs.

The highly anticipated battle between East Rowan and South Central kicks off this Friday in Game 1 of the State Championship series. The action starts at 5:00 PM at Ting Stadium.
