The Ashley Screaming Eagles are headed to the state championship series with an impressive 26-4 record, currently ranked second in North Carolina.

In the regionals, the Screaming Eagles faced off against the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders in a thrilling, closely contested game. The Eagles emerged victorious with a 1-0 win, showcasing a classic pitcher’s duel.
Cane Mehling delivered a masterful performance on the mound, pitching all seven innings, striking out six batters, and allowing no earned runs and just three hits. On offense, Drew Potter's clutch RBI drove Tanner Berry home for the game’s only run. Berry, who went 2-for-3 and hit a double, played a key role in securing the victory and propelling the Eagles into the state championship series.
T.C. Roberson Rams Charge Ahead
The T.C. Roberson Rams also boast a 26-4 record and enter the state championship series as the top-ranked team in North Carolina.

Recent Game Overview
In a decisive Game 2 of the 4A Western Regionals against Charlotte Catholic, the Rams triumphed with a 3-1 victory. The game began as a pitcher’s duel, with Micah Simpson demonstrating his elite skills. Simpson scattered six hits, allowed only one unearned run, and struck out eight batters, cementing his reputation as one of the state’s best.
The Rams struck first in the third inning when Parker Filipek scored off a sacrifice hit from Zeb Swangim. Charlotte Catholic tied the game in the bottom of the inning, with John Hucko scoring on a bunt from Alex Hoffman.
Roberson reclaimed the lead in the fourth inning when Carson Heath, after walking to first base, stole second and scored on Reno Jeter’s groundout. The Rams widened the margin in the fifth inning when Swangim singled, stole second, and scored on a single by Jake Parham.
4A State Championship
The Rams and Screaming Eagles will clash in the first game of the 4A State Championship series on Friday at 8:00 PM. The game is set to take place at Burlington Athletic Stadium and promises to be an epic showdown.
