Burns (22-0) who is currently ranked 20th in the state, 1st in the County Sports Power Rankings, and 1st in the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A conference, continued their unbeaten streak on Wednesday, securing their 22nd consecutive victory of the season with an 8-3 win over the Draughn Wildcats (15-4). This victory extends Burns' confidence, as they have also dominated in their previous matchup against Draughn.

Senior Logan McGee was a standout for Draughn, contributing 2 hits, including a run scored and a stolen base, in the game.

Burns' win at home marked their 17th consecutive victory, dating back to last season, and brought their impressive record to 22-0. However, Draughn suffered their second consecutive loss, bringing their season record to 15-4.

Looking ahead, Burns will host Shelby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. With Burns' pitching staff allowing just one run per game this season, Shelby's hitters face a tough challenge. Meanwhile, Draughn will play at home against Mountain Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
