Davis Bradley Puts On A Show
D.H. Conley (21-3) continued their postseason momentum on Saturday with a narrow 2-1 victory in the 2nd round of the 4A NCHSAA baseball state championships over Heritage (15-12), marking a monumental 2nd round playoff win.
Senior standout and pitcher Ryan Johnson delivered a standout performance, holding Heritage to no earned runs over 4.1 innings pitched.Offensively, D.H. Conley received contributions from across the lineup, with 5 different players recording at least 1 hit. Junior Davis Bradley was among them, going 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Bradley has become a force to reckon with this season, his hard work has proven useful. Bradley has doubled his sophomore year batting average, now having an average of .315, an on base percentage of .507, and a fielding percentage of .857.
The win extended D.H. Conley's impressive home winning streak to 9 games, improving their record to 21-3. Meanwhile, Heritage's record dipped to 15-12 following the defeat.
D.H. Conley's next challenge comes against Cardinal Gibbons on Tuesday. Given their recent streak of close games, fans can expect another tightly contested matchup. As for Heritage, their season has unfortunately came to an end.
