In a clash of softball titans, the Mooresville Blue Devils showcased their dominance by defeating the Hickory Ridge Ragin’ Bulls with a commanding 5-2 victory on Monday, April 8th. The Blue Devils, sitting atop the Greater Metro 4A conference rankings, entered the game undefeated and faced a formidable challenge from the defending regional champion Ragin’ Bulls.

The matchup remained tense throughout, with Mooresville holding a narrow lead until the final inning. In a display of offensive prowess, the Blue Devils unleashed a barrage of hits and executed a perfectly timed squeeze play, extending their lead to 5-1. Though Hickory Ridge managed to add one more run, they couldn't overcome Mooresville's strong performance, falling 5-2.

Pitcher Kristyn Embler put up a solid effort for Hickory Ridge, holding Mooresville to just 2 runs until the 7th inning onslaught.

Despite the loss, Hickory Ridge saw standout performances from players like Victoria Porretta, who contributed with a 1-for-3 outing and an RBI.

Looking ahead, the undefeated Blue Devils (12-0) are set to take on Mount Pleasant on Wednesday at 6:00 PM, while the Ragin’ Bulls (10-4) will look to bounce back against West Stanly on Thursday.
