Wildcats Take on Vikings in Next Round

Lake Norman Wildcats' strong defense and balanced scoring propelled them to an early 11-2 lead and a decisive 82-61 victory over the Chambers Cougars in a 4A West Regional basketball semifinal. 

Head coach Grant Hodges praised his team's forceful play stating:

"It's just who we are. When we play like that and share the ball, we can be a tough team to beat."

Lake Norman (28-2) controlled the game from start to finish, with Tre Mckinnon contributing 6 of his 19 points in the first quarter to establish a solid lead.

Chambers (22-9) made a brief comeback midway through the second quarter, but Lake Norman's committed defense held them without a field goal for the final 3:40, allowing Lake Norman to maintain a 31-22 lead at halftime. 

Despite Chambers' efforts to narrow the gap early in the third quarter, Lake Norman remained composed, embarking on a 10-2 run, including a clutch 3-pointer from Josh Yates, to extend their lead to 41-28. Lake Norman's collective effort and strategic play proved instrumental in securing the victory and advancing in the regional semifinals.

 Lake Norman Wildcats' solid defense and well-rounded scoring paved the way for their convincing 82-61 win over Chambers Cougars in the 4A West Regional basketball semifinal. Next, Lake Norman will face North Meck in round 4.
