Victory in Overtime

Reidsville (29-0) clinched the 2A boys basketball state championship in a thrilling overtime victory against Farmville Central, with a final score of 78-77.

Johnny Sharpe led the charge with 29 points, while Kendra Harrison added a double-double with 19 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 blocks for Reidsville. Harrison was also crowned the 2A State Title MVP.

The rematch between Reidsville and Farmville Central lived up to expectations and even surpassed them. In a dramatic overtime showdown on Saturday, Reidsville avenged last year's title-game loss by edging out Farmville Central 78-77.

The game's defining moment came when Dionte Neal executed a driving layup, giving Reidsville a one-point lead of 78-77 with just 17 seconds remaining in overtime. This set the stage for a tense final timeout for Farmville Central and an opportunity for them to snatch victory. Farmville Central launched an attack, passed the ball, and found an open shooter in the corner. However, the crucial shot missed its mark, and Reidsville emerged victorious as the champions.
