Pitcher Cole Gillis delivered a standout performance for South Mecklenburg, commanding the mound for five innings and limiting Ardrey Kell to just one earned run off four hits, with only one walk allowed. Gillis has been a model of consistency, maintaining a streak of six consecutive pitching appearances without surrendering more than two walks.

Offensively, the team turned to Cameron Bagwell for firepower, as he went 1-for-4 with a crucial home run and three RBI. In a pivotal moment during the game, Bagwell's third-inning home run not only extended South Mecklenburg's lead but also sparked a surge of energy and momentum for the Sabres. With the game hanging in the balance with just a 2-run advantage at the end of the 2nd inning, Bagwell's clutch hit ignited a fire within the team.

The Sabres capitalized on this newfound energy, erupting for an impressive 7-run rally in the 4th inning. This offensive explosion not only solidified their lead over the Knights but also showcased their ability to capitalize on key moments and seize control of the game. Bagwell's impact was felt beyond the scoreboard, as his timely hit galvanized the team and propelled them to a commanding position in the matchup.

Charles Davis (Sr) also helped offensively, as he went 1-for-1, and added 2 RBI, showcasing South Mecklenburg's depth and offensive prowess. Additionally, Louis Hill (Sr) went 1-for-3, scored a run, and added 2 RBI, helping secure the victory for the Sabres.

With this resounding win, South Mecklenburg continues to assert their dominance and solidify their position as a force to be reckoned with in the baseball scene.

South Mecklenburg will take on Richmond at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday while Ardrey Kell will play at home on Monday against Porter Ridge at 7:00 p.m.
