Advances to 2A State Finals
In a dramatic turnaround, just one night after North Stanly edged out Southwestern Randolph 1-0 in an eight-inning thriller, the Cougars struck back with a 2-1 victory in a marathon 13-inning game. This intense showdown set the stage for a high-stakes Game 3 of the regional series on Friday night.
The battle lived up to the hype as the Southwestern Randolph Cougars emerged victorious, defeating the North Stanly Comets 2-0 to punch their ticket to the state finals.Â
In the 27 innings played between the two teams, and only 6 runs scored in all three games, it was obvious that the pitchers were doing a phenomenal job.Â
