Coach Maurice Blakeney, thrilled with the outcome of the night, stated:

“Anytime you can win and go to a state championship, it’s big-for our culture, our program, and for these men. I want to be part of their journey and I don’t care what division you play in, if you’re playing for a state championship, it means something.”

The Trojans' offensive prowess was on full display, led by standout performances from multiple players. Josh Hammond delivered a stellar 2-for-3 showing, driving in 3 runs with a crucial double and a homer over the fence, setting the tone for the game. On the pitching front, Hammond showcased his versatility by tossing three solid innings, conceding only two earned (and one unearned) runs off a lone hit.

With a blend of camaraderie and talent fueling their momentum, the Trojans are poised for continued success as they advance through the playoffs. Their next opponent will be determined in the ongoing 3rd round matchups, as they aim to extend their impressive playoff run.
