Camryn Rodrigues Shows Why She Belongs

Western Alamance (5-12) bounced back from a 7 game losing streak in style on Tuesday, securing a resounding 19-0 shutout victory over the Williams Bulldogs (0-10).


Freshman Camryn Rodrigues played a significant role both on the mound and at the plate. She pitched 2 innings, giving up no earned runs on 1 hit. Rodrigues also made an impact with the bat, scoring 2 runs and going 2-for-3. Currently, Rodrigues has a batting average of .257, a fielding percentage of .714, 6 RBI's, and 8 runs.



Senior standout Lela Kate Baker had an outstanding performance, going 3-for-4 with 3 runs, 4 RBI, and a stolen base. This peformance was no surprise to fans considering she averages a .418 batting percentage, a 1.000 fielding percentage, and has 12 RBI's this season. Junior Ryan Justice also contributed significantly, scoring 3 runs, stealing a base, and going 3-for-3.


The win marked the end of Western Alamance's 7 game road losing streak, improving their record to 5-11. However, it was another loss for the Williams Bulldogs, marking their 6th consecutive defeat at home and dropping their record to 2-12.



Western Alamance will continue their road trip with a game against Rockingham County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rockingham County will be aiming for their 4th consecutive victory. Meanwhile, Williams will be on the road to face Cedar Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
