Cougars Are Back!

Charlotte Catholic is headed to the Final Four

The Charlotte Catholic Cougars women's basketball team avenged last year's defeat by the Lake Norman Wildcats in the final four, securing a 50-44 victory in the fourth round of the North Carolina state playoff.

Blanca Thomas led the charge for Charlotte Catholic, averaging an impressive 18.7 points per game, 11.4 rebounds per game, and 3.2 blocks per game.


Thomas is currently committed to UNC-Chapel Hill and looks to be just as dominant in college as she is in high school. With this victory, Charlotte Catholic advances to the final four and is set to face off against Watauga in the next round.



Lake Norman Comes Up Just Short

Lake Norman comes up short Despite the standout performances of sophomore sensation Kelsey Ryan and junior standout Alexis Sheehan.


Kelsey Rhyne, a sophomore at Lake Norman, led the charge with an impressive 20 points.


Additionally, junior Alexis Sheehan delivered an impressive performance of her own, contributing 18 points to the game. Her contributions on the court were instrumental in keeping Lake Norman in the game.








What Up next

UCharlotte Catholic will advance to the final four, where they will meet #1 ranked Watauga later this week. The Pioneers have recorded a 25-5 record this season and coming off an impressive 50-38 victory over Myers Park.
