Ends Hickory Ridge Winning Streak

In a dramatic turn of events, Hickory Ridge's winning streak came to an end on Thursday as they fell to the Piedmont Panthers with a final score of 5-2.


The game's defining moment came when Jailyn Thomas launched a clutch 2-run home run over the fence, igniting the crowd and fueling the Panthers' momentum. Thomas continued her stellar performance on the mound, pitching a solid 7 innings with an impressive 9 strikeouts, while limiting Hickory Ridge to just two earned runs off six hits.

Contributing to Piedmont's victory was Sarah Belk (Jr), who had a standout night at the plate, going 3-for-4, scoring 1 run, and driving in 2 RBI, playing a crucial role in securing the win for her team.


Despite the loss, Hickory Ridge's Embler Kristyn put on a commendable display on the mound, pitching six innings and surrendering only two earned runs (along with three unearned runs) off ten hits.

Looking ahead, Hickory Ridge will have the opportunity to bounce back in front of their home fans as they face Lake Norman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
