Alexander Central (10-11) who is currently ranked 4th in the NorthWestern 3A/4A conference clinched their 2nd consecutive victory on Wednesday, blanking the West Rowan Falcons (16-7) with a 3-0 win.
Dillon Church was exceptional on the mound, allowing no earned runs and just 2 hits over 5.1 innings. Church has been in excellent form lately, consistently recording at least 5 strikeouts in his last 3 appearances.
Offensively, Alexander Central's lineup delivered a balanced performance, with 3 different players contributing at least 1 hit. Senior Jaret Hoppes stood out, going 2-for-2 with a run scored. Hoppes has been on fire this season, recording a batting average of .472, a fielding percentage of .970, with 10 RBI's, and 20 runs.
Despite the loss, Gage Scruggs had a strong outing for West Rowan, going 2-for-2 with 2 stolen bases.
