Logan Rayburn Makes His Return

Cape Fear (22-4) who is ranked 82nd in the state, and 1st in the United Eight 3A/4A conference, extended their winning streak to an impressive 12 games after Wednesday's thrilling match against the Gray's Creek Bears (14-9) . In a closely contested game, Cape Fear clinched a narrow 6-5 victory, adding another win to their streak and maintaining their momentum.


Freshman powerhouse Logan Rayburn delivered an outstanding performance on the mound for Cape Fear, striking out 8 batters over 6.2 innings and not allowing a single earned run. Rayburn has been doing excellent this season racking up a batting average of 1.000, a fielding percentage of 1.000, and a ERA of 1.33.











Cape Fear's offense was led by seniors Lucca Pascarella and Mason Hughes. Pascarella went 2-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBI, while Hughes scored 2 runs, stole a base, and went 2-for-4 at bat.Another senior that made significant contributions was Ethan Colletti, scoring 2 runs and going 2-for-4.


Despite the loss, Gray's Creek's senior, Jackson Karcher impressed with 2 doubles and 2 RBI, getting on base in four of his 5 plate appearances.



With this win, Cape Fear extended their home winning streak to 8 games and improved their record to an impressive 22-4. Meanwhile, Gray's Creek's record dropped to 14-9 following the defeat.

Cape Fear will be hosting Purnell Swett on Thursday, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Purnell Swett enters the game with a strong offensive record, averaging 8.3 runs per game this season. As for Gray's Creek, they do not have any more games scheduled at the moment.
