The early innings painted a picture of a tightly contested battle, with both teams keeping the scoreboard silent. Wake Forest's pitching ace Carson Crider delivered a stellar performance, shutting down Rolesville's offense for five innings without allowing an earned run. Crider's impressive season stats include a razor-thin ERA of 0.60 and a noteworthy 5 wins under his belt. Not to be outdone, Jackson Hardy, ranked 19th in the state for ERA, has been a formidable force on the mound as well, boasting a stellar 0.63 ERA and matching Crider with 5 wins of his own.

The momentum shifted dramatically in the 4th inning as the Cougars unleashed their offensive firepower, tallying 4 runs and showcasing their batting prowess. Ian Williams emerged as a standout performer, contributing on both offense and the basepaths with a run scored, two stolen bases, and a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate. Williams' season-long speedster antics have seen him rack up an impressive 27 stolen bases. James Bradbury also made his mark, crossing the plate twice while going 2-for-3.

Rolesville's effort was not without highlights, as six players notched hits, including Logan Daniel who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Fresh off their commanding win, the Wake Forest Cougars are gearing up for their next challenge at home against Millbrook (14-7) on Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Expect another thrilling display of baseball prowess as these contenders vie for supremacy on the diamond.
