In a clash of softball titans, the undefeated South Caldwell Spartans (20-0) dominated with an 8-3 triumph over Alexander Central.

The game saw catcher Mcartney Harrington kickstart the scoring spree in the fourth inning with a monumental three-run blast off Alexander Central's reliever Macy Law, who faced her first pitch of the game.

Although Law settled in swiftly, allowing just three more hits over 2.1 innings, South Caldwell had already secured a commanding 7-2 lead. This lead provided ample cushion for South's starter Zalee Brown, who rebounded from an early two-run homer to Ava Chapman in the first inning, ultimately pitching a complete game, giving up three runs on 10 hits while issuing no walks.

At the plate, Harrington shone with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, while Emily Coffey contributed a 2-for-4 effort with two RBIs. Sydnee Bumgarner also made her mark, driving in a run on 2-for-2 hitting.

Following this victory, the South Caldwell Spartans continued their winning streak by triumphing over Ashe County, Maiden, and Hibriten, solidifying their position as the top-ranked team in the Northwestern 3A/4A conference.
